Taitung County Environmental Protection Bureau, Fire Department, and Chung Hwa Pulp Corporation Taitung mill jointly organized the "Benchmark Learning and Fire Safety Drill" for Recycling and Processing Industries event in Taitung County. A total of 28 recycling industry operators participated in the event. The activities focused on conducting practical drills related to on-site safety and fire facilities, aiming to familiarize operators with the use of fire extinguishing equipment and enhance their fire prevention and emergency response capabilities. The Taitung County Government intends to establish the recycling industry operators as learning role models, ensuring the safety of lives and properties, maintaining a favorable working environment, and promoting sustainable resource management towards the goal of zero waste. The Environmental Protection Bureau urged recycling industry operators to conduct monthly self-inspections of the environment and fire safety facilities. The bureau will also conduct periodic inspections to supervise and assess fire risk prevention measures in the factories. The successful organization of the event has set a precedent for learning and exchange among recycling industry operators, fostering collaboration and establishing safer working environments to achieve the objectives of resource recycling and circular economy.
