FSC (Forest Stewardship Council):

The members are composed of environmental groups, tree companies, indigenous representatives and verification companies. It aims to achieve balance among environment, economy and society. With the international forest certification system, countermeasures are put forward to prevent deforestation and strengthen Forest Management. The main verification projects are Forest Management (FM)and Chain of Custody (CoC), which can promote wood products (including paper) to be ”Forest friendly”and achieve the goal of balancing ecological conservation and rational utilization of forest resources.

It was founded in June 1999 in Paris by representatives of the forest management groups from 11 European countries. It is an independent, non-profit NGO that aims to promote the mutual recognition of the third-party certification system to promote the sustainable management objectives of forest. Its main certification projects are also divided into Forest Certification and Chain of custody Certification.
