Since the establishment of the "Hualien Smart Education Center" in 2019, the Hualien County Government has actively promoted smart AI education in elementary and junior high schools. By integrating technology education into classrooms, the initiative has helped students develop computational thinking skills and sparked innovative thinking. This year, AI-related hardware and software have been fully implemented across schools in the county, covering everything from programming to interdisciplinary learning, seamlessly blending technology education with everyday life. Through the annual hosting of national competitions, such as those for drones, autonomous vehicles, and programming, not only has the enthusiasm for learning among students been ignited, but the shared learning achievements of teachers and students have also become a highlight within campuses!
Chung Hwa Pulp Hualien Plant Manager Allen Chiu stated:
"Through the Charity Cup competition, we hope to cultivate AI technology foundations in children from an early age, allowing them to experience the joy of innovation and computational learning, thus laying a solid groundwork for Hualien's young students in the era of technology."
Looking ahead, Chung Hwa Pulp will continue to sponsor the County Government in hosting the Charity Cup events, providing a platform for students to showcase their achievements. These competitions enable students to learn from each other, spark creativity, and unleash their potential. For many years, Chung Hwa Pulp has been committed to supporting technological and environmental education for students. Together with the Hualien County Government, the company has driven initiatives in programming and computational thinking, culminating in the success of the 5th CHP Charity Cup this year.
Additionally, the Chung Hwa Pulp volunteer team has thoughtfully prepared a handcrafted paper-making experience area and an environmental education exhibition zone. These activities offer participating teachers and students the opportunity to learn about paper-making processes, environmental education, and creative handcrafting, providing a refreshing balance to the intense competition.
The competition track for this event was meticulously designed, featuring hidden challenges in the finals to test the participants' logic and operational skills. Through the operation of drones, contestants adapted to and navigated the course, fully engaging their minds and passion. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, students gained more than just glory and experience from the competition—they acquired essential problem-solving skills and a spirit of teamwork, crucial for the future.
It is hoped that the participants will use this competition as a starting point, integrating what they have learned into their daily lives. By bravely facing the challenges of the technological era and applying creative thinking, they can draw an infinite blueprint of possibilities for the future!
