Since 2022, Chung Hwa Pulp’s Jiutang Mill has partnered with the TASHU Branch of the Kaohsiung Public Library to launch the Forest of Life: Sustainable Reading Project, combining reading, sustainability, and local heritage. Now in its 2.0 phase, the initiative features hands-on events like the Wetland Walk & Mobile Library, Colorful Pulp Workshop, Shadow Story Theater, and the Sustainable Paper Art Exhibition.
The Wetland Walk & Mobile Library, held on April 12, guided participants through the Old Iron Bridge Wetlands and Caogong Canal. Led by local historians and Chung Hwa Pulp staff, the event explored the area's ecology and the historic railway’s role in shaping the region’s paper industry. It also spotlighted Jiutang Mill’s efforts in tree planting and wetland conservation.
Next up is the Colorful Pulp Workshop on April 26, where children will create pulp-based models, blending traditional papermaking with creative design. Through these activities, Chung Hwa Pulp and the TASHU Library continue to connect knowledge with nature, nurturing a culture of sustainability in the community.
