To encourage industries to take concrete actions in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) organized the 5th Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards (TSAA) 2025. This year, a total of 251 organizations participated, submitting 503 projects. Chung Hwa Pulp (CHP) received the Silver Award in the category of SDG 4: Quality Education for its initiative “Learning with Paper, Leading for the Future”
The award-winning project highlights CHP’s Hualien plant as a demonstration site, where the company established the Chung Hwa Pulp Environmental Education Park—the first environmental education facility in Taiwan’s eastern manufacturing sector. The park integrates renewable energy applications, biomass energy utilization, green processes, energy-saving systems, and wastewater treatment facilities, systematically showcasing the company’s practical efforts in low-carbon transition and circular resource management. Combined with guided tours, curriculum design, and community engagement, the park provides the public with a learning platform to better understand net-zero goals and industrial transformation, while also demonstrating CHP’s achievements in carbon reduction and ecological conservation.
