Chung Hwa Pulp (CHP) continues to demonstrate outstanding performance in environmental sustainability governance, with its climate commitments and implementation efforts recognized both internationally and domestically. In the 2025 CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) assessments, CHP remained among the leading group for the second consecutive year. Following last year’s “Management Level” (B) ratings in the Climate Change, Forests, and Water Security questionnaires, the company has achieved a significant breakthrough this year: its Forests questionnaire advanced to the highest honor—“Leadership Level” (A-), reaffirming that CHP’s efforts in sustainable forestry and responsible wood supply chain management are now aligned with global best practices.
Domestically, CHP has also demonstrated strong performance in green procurement, achieving an impressive 12 consecutive years of Green Procurement Award recognition, including a third-place ranking last year. The company’s data reveals a steady increase in sustainable material sourcing: in 2024, CHP’s Taiwan operations recorded NT$4.5 billion in green procurement, with certified sustainable woodchips and pulp—sourced from third-party verified forests—accounting for 78% of total procurement volume (650,625 metric tons).
In response to global net-zero trends, CHP has committed to continuously expanding the proportion of green procurement. The company will also revise its decarbonization targets in alignment with the latest SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) guidelines in its next sustainability report, underscoring CHP’s comprehensive leadership—from supply chain transformation to carbon management.
